Why you should be using ACDI

Why ACDI is the Ultimate "Flight Recorder" for Your Identity Data

It is a specialised analytics and monitoring module for OpenText Identity Manager (NetIQ). While Identity Manager handles the doing (creating accounts, giving access), ACDI handles the watching (tracking every change, checking for risks, and proving everything is safe).

While this has been around for a few years now, a lot of people still are unaware of what ACDI is capable of.

ACDI is a powerful analytics and monitoring module designed to give you complete visibility into your Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment. Rather than piecing together multiple tools, ACDI brings everything into a single console that helps you see what’s happening right now and what has happened previously with your identity data. It’s built to support real-time forensic analysis, customisable reporting, as well as the automation of audit evidence and processes, so you can improve performance, compliance, and security across your systems.

3 of the main features ACDI offers are:

Visual Dashboards

ACDI turns large, complex data sets into intuitive visuals like charts and graphs, making it easy to spot trends and understand system behaviour. Predefined dashboards offer activity overviews, and advanced search filters, plus a Dashboard Query Language (DQL), let you refine what you see down to the details.

Flexible Reporting

Reports provide deep insights into key IAM metrics, from directory changes to system audits. You can use ACDI’s built-in templates or build your own reports, then export them in formats like CSV, XLSX or PDF for further analysis or sharing. You can even schedule reports to run automatically.

Time Machine: Historical Change Tracking

One of ACDI’s standout features is the ability to take daily snapshots of your directory (like OpenText eDirectory) and stitch those into a timeline of changes. That means you can go back in time to see how an object looked at a specific moment. A huge help when investigating issues or understanding trends.
